My Bicycle Trip Across Canada: Day 54: Absinthe with a Ukrainian!

June 20th: Rivieve-Verte, NB to Bristol-Florenceville NB: 130km

Skipped breakfast and rode 30km into the next town, where we bought breakfast at ‘Daigle’s Motel and Restaurant’

After breakfast we realized that Phill’s bike had a broken spoke… again… and that he lost my tools close to Cabano.

He got a ride with someone from the Motel into Edmunston, and got the wheel fixed.

Made lunch in Grand Falls. Pretty waterfall there. The rest of the day we rode separately, since Phill’s tire starting acting up again. I thought we agreed he’d get a ride into Fredericton if that happened, but he was committed to riding it.

That night I arrived at our couchsurfer host’s place early. Oleg was super nice, from Ukraine. Gave us a beer and perogies and even Absinthe!

Phill broke another spoke, and got angry when I tried explaining that Oleg’s tools wouldn’t be able to help him fix it.
