My Bicycle Trip Across Canada: Day 38: Velorution

June 4th: Pancake Bay Provincial Park to Sault Sainte Marie: 77km

Woke up without an alarm clock. Phill happened to have a flat front tire, so we had to fix that.

Biked into Goulais Bay (sp?) and had lunch. Phill stopped at a store to buy bungee cords. Someone there told him about a place in Sault Ste Marie that welcomed cyclists to camp on their property for free, called Velorution. Cool name.

I thought Norma and Murray [these are friends of my parents – they were my parents best man and maid of honor, in fact] lived in the Sault, but it turns out they live in Thessalon, 100km East of the Sault. So we ended up staying at Velo.

Two other cyclists were there: Peter and his wife Sarah. They were really nice. Peter and I drank a lot of beer and smoked a joint. Then with Sarah, we played a game of cribbage. Sarah skunked us.

Phill and I ate a box of cookies with a vanilla chai milkshake thing.
