My Bicycle Trip Across Canada: Day 25: Against the (Windy) Day [Thomas Pynchon reference ftw!]

May 22nd: Carberry, MB to Winnipeg, MB: 170km

Huge day of riding! Started at 7:30 (woke up at 6) and didn’t end till 12:30! [17 hours]

We rode into Winnipeg this day.

The whole day was miserable. It started with a head wind like the night before and ended with even worse wind (35 kmph) and a storm.

we were going at 10 kmph!

Stopped at a Husky just outside of town to eat [this was around 11pm]. Such a good restaurant for us. Finished the last 20 km through the city without wind.

Stayed at Susie and Ryan’s. [These were peripheral friends of Phill’s. Actually, I’m not sure if he had ever met them before. They were amazing. I love them and miss them.]
