May 6th: Kamloops, BC to Salmon Arm, BC: 110km

Woke up at 6:30. Got out by 8:15 (?). Kathy gave me some kind of sleeping bag pants to keep warm. I might be able to use them for my feet.

Today was almost all downhill. We ran into Ann, Ray’s (the horse person) sister, biking the opposite direction.

I got a flat, fixed it quick, and worried about it all day.

About half-way we stopped in a town and a dog chased me out on the street. Luckily I out-biked him [Phill really showed he loved me since he got really upset at the lady. I can’t recall if he yelled at her or said something, but I remember him being really angry at her for letting her dog run loose like that]. We stopped in a park and made spaghetti.

We rode almost non-stop and it was really sunny and hot.

Tonight we’re sleeping on someone’s lawn [a cycle-tour host from]
