I Failed at Writing a Novel!

Haha, yes, it’s true, at 19,148 words I have given up on the ‘Write a Novel in a Month’ project. Besides becoming tired of writing ~1,666 words a day, I think one of the culprits to blame for my failure is my decision to publicize my task and then to even promise to share with everyone some of the actual material. The reason for this is the fact that the project doesn’t require a person to write a good book, not even close, just to write it, regardless of how bad it is. However, when I said that I would post some of it, it made me self conscious when I was writing, because I began to think “oh shit, I can’t write that, what will people think” or “oh god, that’s horrible, people are going to think I’m stupid” and so on.

I’ve decided that I will actually post all ~19,000 words, unedited, for your reading (dis)pleasure. Again, I must warn everyone: I in no way believe this to be good work. Everyday I just had to write, and didn’t give it too much thought: I just wrote.

I used to write a lot when I was little, and it was nice to return to that. It was a fun project, and I hope to one day return to it. No idea when that day will come, however.

So yeah, starting Monday July 26th, I will be posting one ‘episode’ a day. There are 16 episodes…and they vary in length. Hope everyone gets a kick out of it.
