The Bible: Lego, LOLCat and Zombie versions

Lately I’ve been trying to keep up with the blog Bible365, in which the person has taken it upon themselves to read 1/365th of the bible (New International Version) every day for,  you guessed it, 365 days.

I’m not writing to comment on that blog, but instead to mention 3 Bible websites I’ve found (thanks to that blog) which I think everyone will enjoy:

The first I’ll mention is the LOLCat Bible Translation Project, in which a wiki has been made in order for everyone to help out in translating the bible (Old and New Testaments) into LOLspeak, including adorably hilarious LOLCat pictures. As far as I can tell, God has been translated into Ceiling Cat, Satan t0 Basement Cat and Jesus to Happy Cat.
Here’s a selection from Genesis 1:1-5:

Boreded Ceiling Cat makinkgz Urf n stuffs
1 Oh hai. In teh beginnin Ceiling Cat maded teh skiez An da Urfs, but he did not eated dem.
2 Da Urfs no had shapez An haded dark face, An Ceiling Cat rode invisible bike over teh waterz.
3 At start, no has lyte. An Ceiling Cat sayz, i can haz lite? An lite wuz.
4 An Ceiling Cat sawed teh lite, to seez stuffs, An splitted teh lite from dark but taht wuz ok cuz kittehs can see in teh dark An not tripz over nethin.
5 An Ceiling Cat sayed light Day An dark no Day. It were FURST!!!1

They’ve even published a book! Plus I also just found some form of a LOLKoran.

The next one, and my personal favourite, is the Bible (Old and New Testaments) fully illustrated with LEGO!! This one is called The Brick Testament. It’s absolutely fantastic what this one man has done with Lego and the Bible. If you want a good place to try and get into it, I suggest Revelations. That shit is epic.

Often times, it would appear as though the creator of the Brick Testament, Brendan Powell Smith, uses the pictures to make an ironic commentary on the text. For example, from 1 Corinthians 6:9:
Do not be deceived: the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God.  Not the sexually immoral…

Finally: The Zombible, which is unfortunately unillustrated 😦
The subtitle of the project is “Matthew, Mark, Luke and ZOMBIES: The Story of Jesus of Nazareth: Teacher, Savior, Zombie Killer”
Supposedly this person has proof that this idea was in conception way before the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies book…
Here’s a selection from the Zombible:

“2 But I say unto you which hear, feel not for your enemies, do what must be done to them which feel nothing, 3 Bless not them that curse you with their very existence, and do not pray for them which hunger for your very brain.”
